Discover urbex photography at Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park
During this urban exploration photography workshop, you’ll learn how to photograph derelict and industrial sites in a striking and atmospheric way. We’ll be working in Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, an impressive former industrial complex featuring steel structures, pipework, staircases and unique lighting conditions.
The focus is on taking your own photographs. After a brief introduction, we’ll get straight down to work on composition, lighting, contrast, perspective and technique. We’ll be taking photographs during the day, at golden and blue hour, and after dark, when the park is spectacularly lit up.
What will you learn during the urban exploration photography workshop?
You will learn to observe lines, shapes, structures and light more consciously in an industrial setting. We will focus on composition, perspective, contrast, exposure and low-light photography.
As the group is limited to a maximum of 10 participants for a scheduled workshop, there is plenty of scope for personalised guidance and questions whilst taking photographs.
What do you need?
Bring a camera that allows you to take photos manually, such as a mirrorless camera or an SLR with an M mode. Also, make sure you have a fully charged battery, a spare battery if possible, and plenty of space on your memory card.
A tripod is highly recommended for taking photographs in the evening. Do also bring a torch, something to drink and your ID card or passport.
Duisburg is located within a German low-emission zone. You should therefore check in advance whether your car requires an emissions sticker. You can order one, for example, via this website.
Time and location
The workshop starts at 15:00 uur bij het Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park visitor centre.
At around 5.30 pm, we’ll have time for a meal. After that, we’ll continue taking photographs during the golden hour, the blue hour and after dark. The workshop lasts approximately 6 uur.
Price and group size
The fee for taking part in a scheduled workshop is €139 per person, including VAT. You will also receive a digital reference guide afterwards.
A scheduled workshop has a maximum of 10 participants. You can book available dates directly in the calendar below.
An urbex photography workshop with your own group?
Would you like to book this workshop exclusively for yourself and your friends, colleagues or another group of your choice? This is possible for groups of 3 to 10 people. We’ll agree on the date together.
The following prices apply to private groups:
- 3–5 people: €695 per group
- 6–7 people: €895 per group
- 8–10 people: €1,095 per group
